Born and raised in New Jersey, Marie graduated with a BA in Economics and Business from Rutgers University. She went on to have a successful career in Sales and Business Development, working her way up to Vice President of a high-tech security firm. Marie and her family settled in Northern Virginia in 1997.

Having moved 10 times during her husband’s 20-year military career, Marie knows first-hand the importance of a professional approach to the home buying and selling process. She is a certified Military Relocation Professional. Marie brings a level of enthusiasm and creativity to real estate. Finding a home for you or helping you sell your existing home is what she is passionate about.

Additionally, Marie loves to assist the local community and has served as a Board Member of several charitable organizations. She grew up in a large family, so having six children of her own is a dream come true. Marie, her husband Tom, and their younger children live in Franklin Farm, where they enjoy gathering around the kitchen table with friends and family. Gardening, cooking, volunteering, and traveling to see their older children are among her very favorite pastimes.

      Marie was recommended to us by a long time trusted financial advisor. She provided her excellent credentials during our first meeting and mentioned that she was a military spouse and the mother of two West Point graduates. As a West Point graduate myself, that established instant credibility. She carefully analyzed the home, the neighborhood and the market and made a recommendation on the asking price. She also recommended a contractor to spruce the home up and make needed enhancements for a speedy sale, and she recommend a relocation service to assist us in our move. Since we had been in the home for nearly 30 years, the relocation was a significant undertaking. She recommended a number of upgrades to make the home easier to sell and we collaborated on the development of a timeline to complete our move and upgrade the home. She assisted in the process by coordinating with the contractor and the relocation service. She also assisted in the challenging process of getting the necessary inspections and approvals completed by the home owners association so that closing could occur without any issues. From photographing the home to marketing to verifying the credibility of the purchaser, Marie was on top of everything and everything worked exceedingly well. The home was sold for asking price within 15 days of going on the market. Closing occurred remotely for us. Everything worked well and Marie went the extra mile to make sure that every detail was taken care of. She even checked the home and mopped part of the basement when the freezer started to leak. Marie earned every penny of her commission and then some. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have had her as our real-estate agent.

      Marie totally understood my needs and took care of all the details. Every recommendation she made was correct. She even had a stager come in to help show the house to the best advantage.       Marie Buonforte worked diligently to sell our home. She came into a townhouse that had been on the market for 12 weeks and hadn't sold. Her market analysis was very comprehensive and helped us to better understand our market and the competition we were up against. She didn't sugar coat the reality of it, but she insisted that we could still get a fair price with a strong marketing program. She spelled out her program and it was far superior to any marketing we had experienced in the passed. (We have been transferred a number of times and as a result have bought and sold a number of homes over the years.) I would recommend Marie Buonforte to anyone that wants to sell their home.       We initially listed our home with another agent from a different agency, but when that agent was unable to provide the r esources necessary to sell our home in a reasonable amount of time, we decided to research other agents.
