I am a lifelong resident of the Southern Maryland region, with the exception of a five-year period where I lived in Northern Maryland and Ontario, Canada, so I know the area very well. I have experienced this area’s growth from its very rural area into the metropolitan region it is today. Prior to entering the world of real estate, I had an in-depth background in residential housing from working in the family-owned building contractor business. After college, I entered the field of international data and telecommunications in positions of project management, sales engineering and director-level management.
In 2001, I decided to combine my residential housing and corporate experience and leave behind the relocations and travel demands of the corporate world to spend more time with the family and pursue my long-time interest in real estate. In my first year in the business, I was awarded the Southern Maryland Rookie of the Year award due to my achievements. After that first year in the industry, I was selected to speak on several Rising Superstar Panels for Washington, D.C. area Realtors as my growth continued. I pushed my education beyond the basic real estate agent in the industry by quickly earning the Graduate of the REALTOR® Institute (GRI), the Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE), the Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) as well as the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designations. CRS designees are recognized for their ongoing professional accomplishments in experience, business conduct, continued education and sales production. Fewer than four percent of REALTORS® nationwide have been awarded this designation.
