A native North Carolinian and a proud University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill alumna, I bring southern charm, an abundance of patience and understanding, diversity, and a wealth of real estate knowledge to the forefront of my business model. Having resided in the Maryland DC Metro area for over 23 years, spending time in Prince George’s County, Howard County, Anne Arundel, and Charles County, I enjoy helping clients purchase, sell and rent homes throughout central and southern Maryland. As a licensed FULL-TIME Realtor in MD for nearly 13 years, combined with having been licensed in NC for over 14 years, I offer 27 years of experience in the real estate industry, thriving in various real estate trends and market conditions.
My former experiences include working in the corporate homeowner’s insurance industry and agency management for a national top leading Insurance Company for over 13 years and as a Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Senior Settlement Officer /Title Producer for a successful Real Estate Title and Settlement Company for over eight years in the Maryland area. Gaining valuable knowledge from these positions helped shape me into a well-rounded Real Estate professional, affording me the capability of handling diverse clientele from various backgrounds. As a top producer in client originations and real estate settlements, I developed marketing strategies to expand company clientele and conducted real estate settlements in both commercial and residential markets.
Although I worked in the corporate world for many years wearing different hats, REAL ESTATE has always been my true passion, helping buyers find their dream homes, starting new traditions, and assisting sellers in listing and marketing their homes as they move to new places around the globe. After my workday was done, I took off my corporate hat, grabbed my Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers (or tennis shoes – depending on where you’re from), and began hitting the pavement hanging door knockers on neighbors’ doors, engaging them in my real estate journey. Fresh out of college, a young 20-something year old, I began working in a lucrative NC golf-course community in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area as a model home site representative. Upon relocating to MD several years later, I continued my passion. Now, nearly three decades later, I am fortunate to still earn the trust of helping deserving buyers find the perfect place to call home, assisting eager sellers with marketing analysis reports, and preparing and listing their homes for top dollar. I am also committed to paying it forward by helping young rookie agents with best practice tips become successful agents with integrity and class.
As the daughter of a Vietnam Vet who was in the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft Bragg, NC, I have traveled a path of dedication and hard work, admiring the service work performed by my father and all the brave military members who have served and are currently serving our country well. I enjoy assisting military family’s transition, whether they are buying or selling. Not only can I help families in Maryland, but I can help sellers and buyers anywhere in the world through Century 21’s Friends and Family program and other relocation network programs by connecting them with reputable, high-quality Realtors in other areas. I’ve got you covered – anywhere.
I am the youngest of three siblings who grew up in a tiny town with no stoplights or grocery stores. My grandparents owned a local “mom and pop” convenience store in town that sold gas, grilled hamburgers, sodas, and snacks. It was where I was dropped off after school every day and helped at the store selling candy. Unbeknownst to me, I was being groomed into a future entrepreneur offering excellent customer service. Raised by a strong Christian woman, my mother, an educator, and director who helped build a stronger foundation for the Head Start program, encouraged me to hold my head up high, practice good work ethics, value education, and instilled in me to “never stop learning and striving for my dreams.” Now, well into my real estate career, I am an empty nester and the mother of two beautiful college-age children – accomplished track and field athletes and aspiring entrepreneurs. I support them in their endeavors and dreams as they grow into young adults. My family – they are my “why,” and I will always strive to be the best example. They’re the reason I work smarter…bolder and faster to ACE your real estate needs!
When I’m not preparing contracts for buyer clients or presenting multiple offers to sellers, you’ll catch me attending jazz concerts in quaint venues or at Busboys and Poets, enjoying great food, and listening to an open mic poetry jam session. I enjoy playing the piano and writing poetry; a good poem can heal the soul and spiritually invigorate the mind just like the sound of music does when the beat drops. More hiking and practicing yoga are on my hottest to-do list! I love college basketball and am an avid UNC Tarheel fan. Hitting the streets for community service events involving the less fortunate and disabled vets with my children and colleagues is very rewarding. On cozy winter weekends, I enjoy hanging with friends and family in one of my favorite cities – New York City – being captivated by a Broadway play (and seeing The Lion King show for the umpteenth time) or hanging out with my besties laughing so hard until our stomachs hurt at a comedy improv show in Washington, DC. In between FaceTime’ing and doing virtual home video tours for out-of-town clients, you may find me at the park having a quick lunch picnic-style with my blanket (and my laptop) – searching for endless property listings for that particular client who “must-have” a kitchen with all white cabinetry…or a fenced yard for their adorable pet Yorkie. (Ok, I admit. It’s hard for me NOT to do real estate…all the time. I simply love it.
