ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 – CENTURY 21 New Millennium today announced it has been recognized as a 2018 Top Workplaces Top Workplacesby The Washington Post. The company is ranked No. 10 in the large employer category, highest among employers in the real estate sector, and is one of only 150 companies in the greater D.C. area across all industries and size bands to make the annual list.

The Top Workplaces list is based solely on employee and agent feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC (formerly Workplace Dynamics). The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

CENTURY 21 New Millennium, which earlier this year celebrated its 20th anniversary of serving home buyers and sellers in the D.C. metro area and around the world, employs more than 900 agents and staff in 20 offices across Virginia, Maryland and D.C. The company ranked No. 3 among the largest residential real estate companies in Greater D.C. by 2017 Metro-area sales volume, according to the Washington Business Journal, and has been named No. 1 CENTURY 21® Firm in the World five times since 2010.

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”

“This is a tough, and often demanding profession, so keeping a good balance with work and personal life is key,” said Todd Hetherington, CEO and Co-Owner of CENTURY 21 New Millennium. “The word ‘balance’ is used a lot in our company. Our agents do a great job of taking care of clients, and we work hard to take great care of our agents. So, we challenge our agents to make sure they are being mindful of their personal well-being and that they’re making time for themselves and family. Our role is to provide time-saving tools, well-equipped work spaces, the best administrative support available, and meaningful training for all levels of experience. We’re vested in our agents’ success, so we are honored and very pleased to receive this Top Workplace recognition since it reflects the opinions of our agents and staff. It’s a very good feeling.”

“We make it a priority to provide great work environments for our agents and staff,” said Mary Lynn Stone, President and Co-Owner of CENTURY 21 New Millennium. “For New Millennium to receive this recognition from The Washington Post is gratifying, and it validates that after more than 20 years, we are still on the right path. We are very honored.”

“Becoming a Top Workplace isn’t something organizations can buy,” Claffey said. “It’s an achievement organizations have worked for and a distinction that gives them a competitive advantage. It’s a big deal.”
