McLean, Virginia) July 15, 2015— The McLean 5K Run with the Warriors and Under Armour, Inc. today announce a partnership that appoints Under Armour as the official outfitter of the runners of the McLean 5K. “We are thrilled to be partnered with the preeminent sports apparel and equipment provider in the world!” says Jason Carrier, co-chairman of the McLean 5K committee. “This new partnership will enhance our runners’ experience and really take the McLean 5K to the next level with Under Armour gear,” committee co-chairman Admiral Kathy Martin stated.
Under Armour, the global leader in performance footwear and apparel, will outfit registered runners. In addition to outfitting the McLean 5K, the partnership also includes integration into the brand’s marketing, in-store, and grassroots activities.
Proceeds from this race benefit Wounded Warrior Transitional Housing at Vinson Hall through Navy Marine Coast Guard Residence Foundation. Wounded Warrior Transitional Housing was established in 2011 to help some of the many thousands of young, wounded veterans who have returned home from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Since 2011, four wounded warriors, referred by the Walter Reed Wounded Warrior Regiment East, have come to call Vinson Hall home.
