Maria Cunningham is a Virginia gal all the way, deeply connected to this area. She was born and raised in Annandale. Maria went to high school at the old St. Mary’s Academy in Alexandria and attended college at Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) graduating with an Economics degree. In 1985, Maria married Chuck Cunningham of Hampton, Va. Together they raised a family of 10 children. Maria became interested in real estate while looking for a home for their family during a move from Virginia Beach to Northern Virginia in 1999. Living in Fairfax for the last 23 years, Maria has been very involved in their local church, community sports, Special Olympics, military family support organizations (two of her sons are Marines!) and civic volunteering. For the last 12 years, Maria has been the founder and director of a private educational therapy practice, serving learning-challenged students in Northern Virginia. When she is not working with her real estate clients, she can be found in her garden, cooking or spending time with her family.
